Nancy Schauer, MSW, LICSW,

Mental Health Professional and Clinical Program Supervisor for Pine River-Backus and Pequot Lakes Schools in the Children’s and Families Program.

I have been with Northern Pines since 2013. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR II), and primary focus is trauma-informed care. I am also trained in Birth to Five (DC:0-5) and The 7 Challenges, and primarily work with clients ages 5-18. Aside from clinical social work, I hold a degree in Mass Communication/Media and Theatre from Concordia College Moorhead.

The greatest part of my work as a therapist is being able to identify the core challenges in my clients, and watch them grow through the healing process, by guiding children and families through acknowledgement, hope, and resilience. I enjoy working in school-based mental health services, because of the ability to collaborate as a community to support children and at-risk youth.

Northern Pines has been a great agency to be a part of, because they value their employees, are supportive of the self-care needs of their staff, and hold strong ethical practices.

Outside of my career, I enjoy music, film, musical theatre, animals, the outdoors, and astrology.
