Trained in/Specialties: I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I am a rostered clinician for Child-Parent Psychotherapy (an early childhood evidence-based trauma treatment). I am certified in Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up for Newborns and Infants. I also am trained to do mental health evaluations for children from birth through age 6. I am comfortable discussing religious and faith-based matters if that is important to you. With my training in trauma-based treatment, I feel comfortable and confident working with clients with trauma they are needing to process. I started my career in the elementary school in Pierz in the Northern Pines school-based program and feel very comfortable doing play-based work with children of all ages. I have seen many adolescents over the years—we often sit down for craft time as we talk or play a game to teach and practice strategies for processing experiences. With creative teens we make space to draw, create sand trays, or use other means of expression to work out the internal world.

Works with clients ages: all
I enjoy working with clients of all ages! I am one of our clinicians that spends a lot of time in the playroom. I enjoy the balance of working with adults and sitting down for adult conversation. My lens is that our families mold us and shape us. I often work with families as part of treatment for children and adolescents. I also enjoy working with couples on building trust, improving communication, and developing a stronger bond.

I love listening to my clients’ stories. Everyone has one, it’s always unique, and it’s always captivating to me. I appreciate the trust my clients place in me, and want to support you in making the changes you are hoping for, even if you aren’t sure exactly what that is yet.

I have been with Northern Pines over a decade now. I enjoy the collaboration and consultation with colleagues, training opportunities, relationships within our office, the teamwork atmosphere when we have a case manager, therapist, skills worker, psychiatrist, all working for the good of the client, meeting with the client altogether, and then seeing the progress and positive change. I love it when my clients are ready to move on from therapy, hopeful and positive about the progress and changes they have made.

I am a wife, mom, pet owner of a dog and cat, volleyball player, wannabe hobby farmer (chickens), garden-attempter, hiker, reader, and owner of a kayak that gets wet a couple times a year. I enjoy tea, a good laugh, a beautiful day, the sound of rain, and just the beauty in the everyday challenges that make each day a surprise and something to wake up for.
