 In my role as a psychiatrist treating patients, I enjoy learning about each individual patient and gathering a thorough history, especially of past medications successes and failures. Then I will work collaboratively with each person to discuss their goals and agree on a plan to optimize their mental health and functioning, which can include medication in addition to other services such as therapy. I actually find it most rewarding when someone comes to me on multiple medications (polypharmacy) but still not at their desired level of functioning, and we can work together to optimize that regimen, which often means fewer medications! 

 I’ve worked in many community mental health agencies, but I am continuously amazed by NPMHC’s commitment to the entire community! In the conversations I have with others at NMPHC, their passion and enthusiasm is almost immediately noticeable. Everyone I’ve worked with seems to have a passion for improving the lives of the people we serve while also understanding the importance of self-care.  

I live in Kentucky. I started doing some telehealth work in 2014. I enjoy watching our local professional soccer teams and college basketball (especially the University of Kentucky – Go Big Blue!)
